New Death Cab- Meet Me On the Equinox

What do Thom Yorke, Justin Vernon, and Ben Gibbard all have in common? (Besides, of course, all taking part in producing some of the best albums of the past ten years.) Well, they have all agreed to contribute original tunes to the next installment in the vampire-love “Twilight” trilogy.
Ben Gibbard, with Death Cab for Cutie, is the first to release a single for the film. The track, “Meet Me on the Equinox,” is a skittering ode to eternal love (you know, the kind that vampires have). I like the song a lot, but as a Twilight hater (sorry) I can’t say I’m keen on the reasons for its existence. I guess I should just care about the end result, and not the means?
It made me really sad to such wonderful artists contributing to such a garbage film. I’m glad you agree.
